Candidatures to the MCFA 2012 administrative board Group Page

At the MCFA annual general assembly, held in Catania, on 03 November 2011, the quorum was not reached, therefore the candidatures have not been validated. Hence, an extraordinary general assembly will be held in Leuven, on 03 December 2011, as mentioned in the programme of the meeting.

The candidature area will be open until Friday 2 December, 2011, midnight CET.

Candidature area for the elections of the MCFA Administrative Board at the MCFA Annual General Assembly 2011.

Only members who paid the membership fee for 2011 can candidate.

The candidates to the MCFA Administrative Board are invited to follow these instructions:
1) Open the text editor by clicking on the button "Add Your Candidature" below and give the title your full name.
2) Introduce yourself, professional occupation, your fellowship (type, institution, time), and other relevant information.
3) Describe shortly your past involvement in MCFA activities and explain your future plans as a MCFA board member.

You may add more text to your self-presentation until the candidature period is closed. You can edit the content you published in this area.

ABOUT THE WORK IN ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD (IN BRIEF):

Q: I would like to know more the details - description of duties and possible outcome for professional and career interests as MC research fellow.

A: The type of work will differ depending on what role you will get in the administrative board. And this role will be given to you only if you agree to it and interested in it. The roles can be: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary General, Treasurer, Science policy officer (studying the developments in the European research policy, writing policy documents, attending meetings, communicating with partner organizations), Liaison officer (maintaining contacts with partner organizations, following up joint projects), Coordinator for the National Groups (coordinating activities of the national groups in different countries), Secretary (updating and cleaning up the member database, finding information and documents, etc.), Website content manager (updating the database of News and Events, updating other sections of the website, finding bugs and reporting them to the webmaster), and many more... You will be able to choose what is closer to you.

The career benefits are: work experience in an international NGO, an extensive working experience in the areas complementary to your research work that is needed in any job that is not pure research at the bench, soft skills like communication, team work, project activities, time management, networking... In addition you will acquire the whole new network of valuable contacts in various areas, etc.

If you get enough votes in the general election preceding the Annual General Assembly, you will become a board member. Then, the members of the new board will distribute the above roles between them according to everybody's preferences.
